Betsy Visits South East Colorado

On Friday, August 1st, Betsy Markey traveled to Lamar, Colorado. She spent the afternoon meeting with local newspapers and small business owners. Betsy also spoke with community groups at the home of a local business leader.

On Saturday, Betsy was in Springfield, Colorado for the annual Baca County Fair and Parade. Joined by her three sisters and niece, Betsy walked in the parade and then enjoyed a barbecue with local residents.

That evening Betsy traveled to Las Animas, Colorado for the Bent County Fair and Rodeo.

“People in this part of the state are hurting from the high cost of gas and diesel,” said Markey. “I spoke with many folks who feel that their voices are not being heard in Washington, and that has got to change.”

As the Democratic candidate for our State’s 4th Congressional District,  I would like to invite ALL veterans, service members, and your families – regardless of party affiliation –  to come and speak with me about the issues and concerns facing you as former and current soldiers, marines, sailors and airmen.

I sincerely want to learn from you how I can best represent you and your families if I am elected to represent the 4th CD in 2008.

I hope that you can attend my MILITARY MEET & GREET, which will be held at “the Barn” in the Rigden Farm subdivision in Fort Collins (located on East Custer off of Timberline Road) on Wednesday, November 28th beginning at 6:30p.m.

I look forward to the opportunity to serve you just as you have served our country, and I look forward to seeing you on the 28th of November!

Betsy
