DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE BETSY MARKEY TO EMBARK ON EASTERN PLAINS TOUR
Fort Collins, CO – Betsy Markey, Democratic candidate for Congress from Colorado’s 4th District, will visit 10 counties across the Eastern Plains, from Saturday, August 4 through Tuesday, August 7. Markey will meet with voters and Democratic party officials and activists over the course of the four-day swing.
Markey most recently was Northern Colorado Regional Director for U.S. Senator Ken Salazar. She is a successful businesswoman, having founded and grown a multi-million-dollar, high-tech business and a local retail shop. She also worked for several years as a high-ranking official in the U.S. State Department.
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:
Saturday, August 4: BENT COUNTY
5:30 PM: Markey will attend the Bent County Barbecue in Las Animas.
Sunday, August 5: OTERO, CROWLEY and BACA COUNTIES
Times TBD: Markey will meet with party activists in Otero, Crowley and Baca counties.
Monday, August 6: PROWERS, KIOWA, CHEYENNE, LINCOLN and KIT CARSON COUNTIES
Times TBD: Markey will meet with party activists and voters in Prowers County; and visit Kiowa, Cheyenne, Lincoln and Kit Carson counties.
Tuesday, August 7: YUMA
Times TBD: Markey will attend the Yuma County Fair and picnic.
