  Betsy Markey served as Regional Director for U.S. Senator Ken Salazar for northern and eastern Colorado, where she worked with businesses, agricultural groups, elected leaders and individual constituents to represent their interests.  As a successful businesswoman, Betsy co- founded Syscom Services, an Internet consulting and web site development firm located in Silver Spring Maryland, and Huckleberry’s, a coffee shop in Fort Collins Colorado.   Betsy holds a BS in Political Science from the University of Florida and a Masters degree in Public Administration, with an emphasis on public finance, from American University. She was a high-ranking official in the U.S. State Department as a computer security specialist.  She is former Chair of the Larimer County Democratic Party and Chair of the Larimer County Food Bank.  Betsy has been married for 23 years and has three children.
